Viennese furniture and Gustav Klimt
Gustav Klimt was exchanging views and opinions with the artist of his age who pushed the modern time as he did. In the sense of the 'Gesamtkunstwerk' interiors were created together with architekts and designers documentating the spirit of the time at the highest stage. Part of the interiors were furniture art objects that were designed in the environment of Klimt, partly for the same clients or for important exhibitions of the period such as the Kunstschau in 1908 together with Josef Hoffmann and the Wiener Werkstätte.
A selection of these objects telling about the owners or the presentation in connection with Klimt, is exhibited in our gallery and may be purchased.
